OLD DE SPAIN -  The opening track is almost like a pirate shanty, Indie Folk complete with harmonies, chanting and a variety of acoustic instruments.  Great intro to the third album by the talented Norwegian band.

CURVACEOUS NEEDS - A quickstep tempo, a mixture of Folk, Pop, Soul and Blues.  A fabulous foot tapper! A catchy chorus make this an irresistible slice of Scandinavian brilliance.

OH MY GOD - A very unusual track, its got distant Soul backing vocals at times but mostly a Punk style vocal backed by an uptempo Indie Folk.  This is genius and an experimental masterpiece.

LADY GREY - A simply beautiful Pop Folk track, melancholic and emotive vocals and melodies.  Reminds me a little of Susanna Hoffs and Bangles' tracks.  Its got that 60s Pop Rock vibe.

MY OWN TUNE - This track is a quirky, upbeat track that has a little Latin Disco feel with a merging of Folk and there is also a Rap interlude with hints of Ska!  Another gem.

 

 

SHINE LIKE NEON RAYS - This is a New Wave Pop Rock track with a pumping electronic backing and 80s style vocals and chants and segments that remind me of The Cure's "Close To You".  Class.

DRIVING AFTER YOU - A change in tempo, a moody, melancholic Blues Country track with a crescendo building vocal battle between lead and backing vocals.  Superb.

FLASH IN THE DARK - Reminds me of a little Tori Amos or PJ Harvey, moody, angst ridden raw vocals against a minimal backing. Punky Folk Rock at its best.

MY DEAR - An upbeat, bouncy, quirky Pop Rock tune.  Again has the elements of Irish style jig and various Folk segments.  Its a good feeling song that will make you smile.

 

 

BAD GIRL - An uptempo Blues and Country Folk track that kicks into a more rockier chorus and some fierce strings.  

ROCKLAND - A very sweet, emotive ending ballad to a super album.  Reminds me a little of Fleetwood Mac and mostly like 60s Folk duo Simon and Garfunkel with awesome harmonies and minimal musical backing.
